Mismatched Mess

of life, love, fashion, & forgetting to update

I have so much I want to blog about, but it’s all about Christmas presents and I’m not going to just tell everyone what their present is. (If, of course, they read my blog. who knows, maybe they don’t)

I officially “moved out” of the campus apartment last Friday. I had to move out for Christmas break so I’m living out of my car right now.

I am, however, at work. I rode with my mom and opened up the career center. And I know. I KNOW. that no one will stop by. Because school is OUT. But… time is money, eh?

I love Christmas time. I love giving presents. Well, let me put it this way: I love giving presents until minutes before I give someone their present and then I get a tiny anxiety attack that goes like this: “Man, they’re not expecting this present. I hope they don’t think I’m hoping for anything in return. Because I wasn’t even thinking about that when I got them this, I was just thinking, “Hey, let’s get them a little something.” What if they show up tomorrow with a present for me? That is the last thing I want–to put them in a position where they think they’re required to get me something.”

And then I suck it up and give it to them.

The people I’m referring to are the people who definitely aren’t supposed to get me anything…like my roommates or boss. (With family I don’t worry so much about because I know I’m on their Christmas list.) Anyways…I gave those people a little bag of hot chocolate and marshmallows.

My favorite small gifts last Christmas were all the hot chocolate I recieved. Because, like coffee, I’m an addict to the stuff. I look forward to waking up at my dad’s house in the morning because there will always be a mug of hot chocolate full of marshamallows waiting. I think I could easily say hot chocolate is my favorite part of Christmas. 😉

Anyways, I need a hair cut. I haven’t cut my hair since I was a senior in high school—-I’m about to graduate college now!

Here is my inspiration:

November 5th: Donut Day

Wow, I have not been responsible at all about keeping up with this blog! November celebrations have been going on ALL WEEK yet I have not posted about them at all! My apologies! Let’s get back on track!

November 2nd: I did post about this one but I forgot to tell you that I had cookies and I decorated them in blue icing to celebrate Cookie Monster’s birthday. I didn’t have any, though—I gave them to Taylor and his roommates!

November 3rd was Sandwich Day and I am so not happy to say that I didn’t even celebrate today! The easiest possible day to celebrate….I just didn’t have time! I had some sandwich meat and chips for a quick lunch—I was so busy!

November 4th was Candy Day. Now, this was an easy one, too! Just buy candy, right? Right! But on top of that I also found Taylor some Axe Body and hair products and they were named “Chocolate.” So, I definitely gave that to him (as well as some candy) so he could celebrate this holiday, too!

Alright, now we are all caught up!

November 5th: Donut Day

TODAY is Donut Day! (This week has been primarily about unhealthy food, eh?) Well, I wasn’t interested in going out to buy some fresh donuts this morning, plus I didn’t have any time to do that so vending machine donuts at work were just as great!

Yes, powdered donuts were great for today’s celebration!

You should celebrate too! Every day is cause for celebration! (and post pics if you do)  ;) Happy November!

Another Summer Ended

Well the summer holiday is coming, once again, to a close and so much happened to me during these few months!

It has definitely been a learning experience for me. I took three classes this summer—which I won’t get into since I have one more final tomorrow and then that will be the end (!)—so I was living on campus; poor, lazy, and busy!

Let’s start with “poor.”

I designed a few flyers for concerts this summer for design experience and a little money. Of course I love designing so this was tons of fun for me. However, one person gave me a check with a large amount of money that ended up bouncing, leaving my bank account in the negative numbers! They paid me back within a matter of days, but by that time the bank had added a $25 fee for every money transaction I made due to insufficent funds.

For weeks I got by on next to nothing and dipping into my loan refund and worked at the school whenever I could! So, thank God that is taken care of now, although I still have hardly anything! I’m grateful for what I DO have because it’s just fine for all I need!

Now onto the “lazy.”

AHHH! I have been so lazy this summer!!! But I’m FINALLY almost back on track–my roommates and I cleaned the apartment and my room is fluctuating between clean and what I like to call ‘lived in.’

I’ve been so busy this summer! Classes, work, mangaing a band, bridesmaid duties, designing, Florida trip, mini-tours, church camp! It’s been such a fun summer spent with friends and family and meeting new people! It seems I’m always doing something–never stopping! But I’ve enjoyed it that way and wouldn’t change this summer at all!

The summer was a blast and it has got me really ready for fall and the fall semester! Of course, living in Texas with our crazy weather, probably shouldn’t hold my breath for the fall season to roll around…It’ll cool off a bit, but East Texas weather is only predictable in that you KNOW it’ll be unpredictable!

Speaking of fall, though—I am very ready to start wearing my fall clothes. Those are my favorite kinds of clothes! And my summer wardrobe is tired. Or rather, I’m growing weary of summer attire—give me a great cardigan or cute dress—and boots! lol
